someone, I tell you,
in another time will remember us.
I’m always caught a bit off guard when other people find body horror, you know, horrifying, instead of vaguely comforting or kind of hot. Then I remember that most people do not find simply having a body to be horrifying.
are you a haunted house? why are you a haunted house? have you ever been a haunted house? when will you be a haunted house? will you become a haunted house?
I made it through
April, May, June; it seemed
I had outsmarted grief
but pulled the hanged man
card repeatedly—the self-same
sorrow said a different way.
